The intrepid police-reporter Herr Jimmie Brand ( Herr Gorm Schmidt ) works for the “Daily Wire”. After three days of investigation he solves the case of the Vibeleje murder. However, this put Herr Brand in a terrible stressed condition and for this reason his boss decides to give him two weeks of vacation.
But it will be a restless sabbatical because Herr Brand will witness a strange crime in broad daylight in the Hill Park as he is looking through the window of his home. Of course, our intrepid reporter decides to solve such a mysterious crime.
The style and artistic film influences of Herr A. W. Sandberg made him probably the most “Americanized” among the Danish film directors. That’s an aristocratic appreciation that can be verified in “Nedbrudte Nerver” ( The Hill Park Mystery - 1923), a fairly well made detective und comedy film in which the Danish director uses and plays with the elements that such kind of film needs.
The influences of “Nedbrudte Nerver” can be tracked back to early serial films as well as mystery and crime films. By mixing such film genres, Herr Sandberg, in a peculiar way, prevails with a special Danish sense of humor that certainly is full of witticism, irony and slander. Herr Sandberg creates a very peculiar and funny hero who’s a stressed and earnest police-reporter that will try to solve any crime he faces.
As this Herr Graf said before, the film has all the ingredients that this peculiar film genre needs; that is to say, a mysterious and unresolved crime, an enigmatic woman and a lot of misunderstandings. Let’s not forget to mention as an bonus the pretty Danish girls in bathing suits, some particularly Danish lovesick anatomy studies such as “you have such lovely eyes, especially the right one” or genuine Danish love proposals, as for an example, “I love you; you are not like any other. If others were like you, there would not be many others. I love you!”.
Herr Sandberg handled very well these film elements in an effective way, achieving a very entertaining and funny work. It is certainly a film that is harmless and predictable but precisely due to the unpretentious atmosphere together with Herr Sandberg professional nature and resoluteness, “Nedbrudte Nerver” is an estimable and a very good example of the spirit of mystery film. It’s one in which pure and simple entertainment is what matters over all and certainly this film fulfils such intentions.
And now, if you'll allow me, I must temporarily take my leave because this German Count must to keep secret some minor crimes of the aristocracy.

El intrépido reportero Jimmie Brand ( Herr Grom Schmidt ) el cual trabaja en el periódico “Daily Wire”, tras tres días de intensa investigación, ha conseguido resolver el caso conocido como “el crimen de Vibeleje”, aunque esto le ha costado a Herr Brand sufrir un estado de estrés preocupante, por dicho motivo su jefe decide otorgarle dos semanas de vacaciones para que así pueda recuperarse.
Pero será éste un descanso poco descansado pues Herr Brand será testigo, desde una ventana de su domicilio, de un extraño crimen en el parque y a plena luz del día, decidiendo nuestro intrépido reportero ponerse manos a la obra y resolver tan misterioso crimen.
El director danés Herr A. W. Sandberg puede ser considerado quizás como el más americanizado de los directores daneses por las influencias de estilo y artísticas provenientes de más allá del Atlántico en buena parte de sus filmes, una aristocrática apreciación que puede ser comprobada en el filme “Nedbrudte Nerver” (1923), una satisfactoria y muy bien realizada comedia detectivesca en la cual el director danés usa y juega con todos los elementos habituales de dicho género cinematográfico.
Las influencias de “Nedbrudte Nerver” pueden ser rastreadas desde los añejos seriales silentes así como en los filmes de crimen y misterio de la época, mezclando todo ello Herr Sandberg de una forma ciertamente peculiar, prevaleciendo en el filme un especial sentido del humor danés repleto de ingenio, ironía y maledicencia, creando Herr Sandberg un peculiar y divertido héroe, un diligente aunque agobiado reportero policial el cual intenta solucionar todo crimen con el que se encuentra.
Tal y cómo éste Herr Graf ha mencionado anteriormente, el filme posee todo los ingredientes necesarios que ésta clase de películas necesitan, esto es, un extraño crimen sin resolver, una mujer enigmática y un montón de malentendidos, además de contar el filme con bellas señoritas en traje de baño y enamorados estudios de anatomía danesa: “Que ojos más bonitos tienes, especialmente el derecho” u originales declaraciones de amor a la danesa: “Te quiero, tú eres especial. Si fueses como las demás, entonces ya no serías especial. ¡Te quiero!”.
Herr Sandberg maneja muy bien los recursos narrativos del filme de forma ciertamente efectiva, consiguiendo un filme muy divertido e igualmente entretenido, una obra inofensiva y predecible, ciertamente, pero precisamente debido a su falta de pretensiones y la profesionalidad y capacidad de Herr Sandberg, “Nedbrudte Nerver” es un estimable buen ejemplo del espíritu que todo filme de misterio debe tener, en donde el más puro entretenimiento es lo que realmente cuenta, objetivo que éste filme consigue plenamente.
Y ahora si me lo permiten, les tengo que dejar momentáneamente, pues este conde germánico tiene que resolver algunos crímenes menores de la aristocracia.

Debido al estrés que padece el periodista yo me he tomado la película como una gran broma,un cúmulo de situaciones inverosímiles que le suceden al protagonista más fruto del sueño que de la realidad como cuando ve a dos muñecos moverse y hablar sobre una mesa.
Alucinaciones,todo alucinaciones.
