New Year With Frau Gustafson

A long time has passed since Herr Graf has heard something about Frau Greta Gustafson, or more specifically since 1929 when she invited this Herr Graf to the première of "The Kiss".  Thereafter, she tried to escape from Herr Graf's charms and she left silent movies, so impressive was for her the meeting with his German count...

Due to her fierce sense of privacy and desire to avoid a new traumatic encounter with this Herr Von, she retired from film and public life during all these years. However, as an old German saying goes: "if Mohammed does not go to the mountain, the mountain will go to Mohammed". Well... this Herr Graf will go to Stockholm during the next week in order to spend the New Year with Frau Gustafson, talking with her about old times and silent movies in Swedish, natürlich!!.

Bastantes años han transcurrido desde que éste Herr Graf supo de Frau Greta Gustafson, concretamente desde el año silente de 1929, año en el cual la susodicha invitó a éste Herr Graf a la première del filme “The Kiss”; debido a la traumática impresión que le produjo ésta cita a Frau Gustafson, decidió la susodicha tomar la decisión de evitar en un futuro tanto los encantos aristocráticos como los filmes silentes…

Y es que el férreo sentido de privacidad, además de evitar otro traumático encuentro con éste Herr Von, que siempre había manifestado Frau Gustafson, le aconsejó retirarse desde entonces de la vida pública silente, pero como bien dice un viejo dicho germánico: “Si la montaña no va a Mahoma, Mahoma va a la montaña”, éste Her Graf ha decidido viajar la próxima semana hasta Estocolmo para así poder charlar con Frau Gustafson acerca de esos viejos y silentes tiempos de otrora, además de encarar en tan nórdica capital un nuevo fin de año y todo ello en sueco, ¡natürlich!...

From Budapest: The Aristocratic New Year's Celebration 2012

As it happened this last year, Herr Graf resumed his particular and exclusive tour and faces a modernen New Year through the old but not forgotten windy roads of the old Austrian-Hungarian Empire.

So it’s time for nostalgia and to recollect old stories of ancient and idealized times ( the ones that European und decadent aristocrats like so much ) that probably never happened ( a trifle subject this, certainly, because as someone said in other ancient times, don’t allow a true story to spoil an invented story ).

Thus, in accord with this Herr Von’s precepts, this New Year’s Eve Herr Graf will spend terrific and terrified time in Budapest, in the Hungarian capital city that in other times shared glory and decadency with Vienna ( ah, what terrific days this German Count spent travelling from one city to another in military garments!!… ). During the next days and until such New Year’s feverish times have passed, this Herr Graf cannot be found ( well, more precisely, unless you go to some Hungarian cocktail bar or The Hungarian National Opera or the decadent but exquisite suburbs that the aristocracy likes so much… ) .

Until then, this Herr Von will stroll through the "Chain Bridge" from Buda to Pest, from Pest to Buda, pestering the inhabitants of such decadent city about the old glories during the Habsburg times.

Tal y como sucedió el año pasado, éste Herr Graf retoma su particular y exclusivo tour de fin de año, recorriendo de nuevo las polvorientas y añejas rutas del antiguo imperio Austro-Húngaro.

Por dicho motivo, es tiempo para la nostalgia y para recordar viejas historias de esos antiguos e idealizados tiempos ( esos que tanto gustan a los aristócratas ) y que quizás nunca hayan acontecido éstos ( un asunto sin demasiada importancia, la verdad, pues como alguien bien dijo tiempo ha, no permitas que una historia verídica te estropee una historia inventada… ).

Por lo tanto y teniendo en cuenta éstas máximas aristocráticas, éste Herr Graf disfrutará durante los próximos días de una fabulosa y fabuladora noche de fin de año en Budapest, la capital húngara que otrora compartió gloria y decadencia con Viena ( ¡ah, que tiempos aquellos cuando éste Herr Graf se trasladaba de una ciudad a otra luciendo sus galas militares! ).
Así que durante los próximos días y hasta que la locura del advenimiento de un nuevo año haya finalizado, éste Herr Graf no estará localizable, a no ser que ustedes acudan a un establecimiento húngaro en donde sirvan cocktails o asistan a una noche en la Ópera húngara o transiten los alrededores y decadentes lugares de la capital húngara que tanto aprecian los aristócratas.

Mientras tanto éste Herr Graf se paseará, de un lado a otro, por el puente de las cadenas, de Buda hacia Pest, de Pest hacia Buda, incordiando a los habitantes de dicha ciudad acerca de las glorias y de los viejos tiempos de la época de los Habsburgo.

From Vienna: The Aristocratic New Year's Celebration 2011

During the next fortnight this modernen diary will be closed due to some wild, decadent and obviously aristocratic mad evenings. This German count will celebrate at an exclusive and special European aristocratic ball room in order to bring in the new longhaired year of 2011.

Accordingly and properly within aristocratic parameters, just what will be the special place in order to celebrate the new and aristocratic silent year?? ... There is only one place on Earth where a German count easily can be at home in these special days. It’s a place that conjures up the quintessential aristocratic and decadent way of life that, after many centuries, maintains intact its exclusivity and old ancient atmosphere. Thanks Gott that place it is not very far from Germany; it’s Wien ( Vienna for those who doesn’t speak elegant European languages ).

So during the next days, this Herr Graf will enjoy the snowy Austrian capital city and its peculiar and cold atmosphere ( with the permission of the weather and especially the whimsy of Spanish air traffic controllers… ). What better way to properly celebrate than strolling the New Year’s path inside an elegant aristocratic “fiaker”, a classical Viennese two-horse carriage? Such transport is especially useful for going to Imperial Balls or celebrating the New Year in luxurious style by attending the performance of Herr Johann Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” at the Wiener Staatsoper (or the “Vienna State Opera” for those illiterate longhaired youngsters who doesn’t speak European languages mentioned above).

So, Mein Liebers… for this reason and because of his aristocratic absence, this Herr Graf wants to now wish you all a happy New Year hoping that 2011 will bring us more of these wonderful silent films that make life, even aristocratic ones, more bearable. Durante los próximos quince días éste diario modernista permanecerá cerrado debido a alguna que otra decadente y obviamente, salvaje noche aristocrática, pues este conde germánico se dedicará a celebrar la llegada del nuevo año melenudo en un exclusivo salón de baile europeo.

Y para hacerlo de la forma más correcta y apropiada, siguiendo los parámetros aristocráticos, ¿cuál podría ser el lugar elegido para celebrar la llegada de un nuevo y silente año aristocrático?... solamente hay un lugar en la Tierra en donde un conde teutón se puede sentir como en su propio Schloss durante éstos días tan especiales, un lugar que reúna la quintaesencia de su decadente y aristocrática forma de vida y que continúe manteniendo su exclusividad y añeja atmósfera tras el paso de los siglos, además y gracias a Gott, dicho lugar no está demasiado lejos de Germania… pues sí, mein liebers, éste conde teutón les está hablando de Wien o Viena para todos aquellos melenudos incapaces de hablar elegantes lenguas europeas.

Por dicho motivo y durante los próximos días, éste Herr Graf se dedicará a disfrutar de la nevada capital austriaca y su peculiar y fría atmósfera ( con permiso del caprichoso tiempo invernal o los caprichos de los controladores aéreos hispánicos ).
¡Ah!, que mejor forma que celebrar éstas fechas paseando por los mercadillos de año nuevo dentro de un elegante y aristocrático “fiaker”, ese clásico carruaje de dos caballos vienés, un medio de transporte especialmente útil para acudir en él a los bailes imperiales o celebrar lujosamente la llegada del nuevo año acudiendo a la representación de “Die Fledermaus” de Herr Johann Strauss en la “Wiener Staatsoper” ( o lo que es lo mismo, el Palacio de la Ópera de Viena, para todos aquellos ignorantes jóvenes melenudos incapaces de hablar elegantes lenguas europeas mencionados un poco más arriba ).

5th Silent Anniversary

Today is a great day in the Schloss!!.

Usually it is not necessary for aristocrats to have an excuse in order to celebrate an aristocratic and decadent soirée in the Schloss at any time; but if finally there is one, all the better.

Ah, mein liebers!... Today we celebrate that five years has been passed since the Schloss silent theatre opened to the aristocratic and commoner silent world. It’s a small lapse of time, certainly, in which almost 300 silent pictures were reviewed among other aristocratic trifles in this Herr Von’s modernen silent diary.

Keeping in mind that we are talking about silent pictures made 100 year ago, the numbers are not particularly spectacular ( 74.000 visitors ). However, a small but faithful amount of silent film admirers seem to enjoy sharing in the discovery of each and every silent film directed by those bizarre and bold pioneers, wonderful oeuvres from your great-great grandfathers.

So, this Herr Graf would like to express great appreciation and would like to thank to any visitor, who, daily or from time to time from and from any place around the silent world, takes a seat and spends a little time reading this Herr Graf’s silent irrelevancies. That’s what this Herr Von’s silent modernen dairy was made for - to share with people around the whole globe ( aristocrats and even commoners ) the fascination that causes us to watch any of those wonderful silent works.

So, in order to enjoy properly such magnificent happening, the 5th Silent Anniversary, tonight a luxurious and decadent soirée will take place at the Schloss, an astounding aristocratic party in where the most exclusive delicatessen will be served. Meanwhile, a spectacular orchestra will play dizzying waltzes during the whole silent night.

Any silent film fan is cordially invited to attend this Herr Graf’s tonight silent soirée but obviously guests should dress accordingly and properly at such exclusive celebration. So, aristocratic men guests should wear tuxedos and aristocratic female guests should wear long evening dresses and heels. Commoner guests, once they enter the Schloss from the tradesmen’s entrance, will find chic servant uniforms awaiting that should be worn in order to enjoy the celebratory soirée. Meanwhile they should serve the delicatessen mentioned before to the aristocratic guests and once the soirée ended, obviously they should merrily clean up the ballroom and adjacent rooms, allowing tipsy aristocratic guests to go to sleep until that distant a roosters says that it is time to depart…

¡Hoy se celebra un gran día en el Schloss!.

Los aristócratas no necesitan, de forma habitual, tener alguna excusa para celebrar, a la mínima ocasión, una decadente y aristocrática soirée en el Schloss, pero si finalmente resulta que hay alguna, pues mejor que mejor.

¡Ah, mein liebers!... Hoy celebramos el hecho de que ya han transcurrido cinco años desde que el teatro silente del Schloss abrió sus puertas, tanto para el público aristocrático como para el plebeyo; un pequeño intervalo de tiempo éste, ciertamente, en el cual casi 300 filmes, además de otros asuntos aristocráticos, han sido comentados por éste Herr Von.

Teniendo en cuenta de que se tratan de filmes realizados hace casi un siglo, las cifras de visitantes al diario silente de éste Herr Graf no son especialmente espectaculares ( sobre unos 74.000 ), una pequeña pero igualmente fiel comunidad de forofos silentes, que disfrutan enormemente el gran placer que produce el descubrir y contemplar esos maravillosos filmes dirigidos por pioneros y atrevidos tatarabuelos.

Por dicha cuestión, éste Herr Graf quiere agradecer a todos esos visitantes, los cuales de forma diaria o esporádicamente y desde cualquier lugar remoto del mundo silente, toman asiento y emplean su tiempo en leer las disquisiciones silentes de éste Herr Von, dando razón de ser a éste diario silente, motivo por el cual fue creado, para poder compartir con toda la gente del mundo entero ( aristócratas y plebeyos ) la fascinación que sigue causando hoy en día contemplar cualquiera de esas maravillosas obras silentes.

Por lo tanto y para celebrar como se merece tan excepcional acontecimiento, esto es, el quinto aniversario del diario silente de éste Herr Graf, ésta noche se celebrará en el Schloss, toda una lujosa y decadente soirée, una sorprendente fiesta en la cual las más exclusivas delicatessen serán servidas mientras una espectacular orquesta ameniza la velada tocando mareantes valses.

Todos los admiradores del cine silente están invitados a dicha soirée a la cual, obviamente, deberán asistir vestidos de forma apropiada siguiendo la etiqueta aristocrática; por lo tanto los invitados aristócratas masculinos deberán llevar frac y las señoras traje largo de noche a juego con sus espectaculares zapatos.
Los invitados plebeyos, una vez accedan al Schloss por la puerta de servicio, podrán encontrar allí unos uniformes de criados muy chic, los cuales deberán vestir para así poder disfrutar tan particular velada, sirviendo además durante la misma las delicatessen mencionadas anteriormente a los invitados aristócratas y una vez que la fiesta haya concluido, deberán limpiar alegremente la sala de baile además de las otras salas adyacentes, no estorbando demasiado cuando los invitados aristócratas piripis procedan a irse a dormir, una vez que a lo lejos un gallo indica con su canto a los susodichos que ya es hora de partir hacia sus respectivos aposentos…

Summer Hibernation

Mein liebers... as it happens every year at this time, this Herr Graf must hibernate in order to escape from the summer dangers; it's a time of the year to rest.
So, that crowded multitude of Herr Graf's followers,( exaggerating facts is an aristocratic pass time ) that yearn for silent films must be wait until mid-September. It will be by then that this Herr Von will open another thrilling Fall-Winter silent season at the Schloss theatre.

At this time, those longhaired youngsters, or even those venerable ancient people interested in this Herr Graf's silent rants, know that Christmas time is an unusual season at the Schloss theater. No doubt this is due to this German count's stern Lutheranism as well as his strict and stiff Teutonic nature. Nevertheless, the whole Schloss population would like to give their coldest Season's Greetings to everyone.

Teutonic Organization

It seems a shame to this German count his modern diary wasn’t a good example of the well known orderliness one expects from Teutonic organization, a quality for which Deutschland is famous around the world. On the contrary, a kind of chaos, disorganization and anarchy reigned among the various comments published by this Herr Von during the last four years of publishing this diary so in order to put an end to such disorder and re-establish the Teutonic reputation for efficiency, this Herr Graf, with the help of his enslaved and not well paid servants, cleaned up the whole Schloss, especially its theatre.

Now old and new visitors can easily find and enjoy the different silent subjects put forth in this modern diary during the last years, with topics arranged by specific labels for silent directors, countries and of course various aristocratic issues.

The silent journey is much smoother now so there is no excuse for those longhaired and shameless silent fans not to enter the Schloss theatre even without an aristocratic invitation.

Resultaba bastante impresentable, para éste conde germánico, el hecho de que éste diario silente moderno no fuese un buen ejemplo del famoso orden y organización teutónica por la cual Deutschland es bien conocida en el mundo entero, todo lo contrario, una especie de caos, desorganización y anarquía reinaba entre los múltiples comentarios publicados por éste Herr Von en dicho lugar durante los últimos cuatro años; por tan enojoso motivo y así finalmente poner orden y reestablecer la eficiencia y reputación teutónica, éste Herr Graf, con la ayuda de sus mal pagados y esclavizados sirvientes, ha hecho limpieza general en el Schloss, especialmente en su teatro silente.

Ahora todos los visitantes, mayores o melenudos éstos, pueden encontrar y disfrutar de los diferentes contenidos silentes de éste diario moderno publicados durante los últimos años, ordenados éstos con etiquetas específicas que hacen referencia a directores silentes, países y por supuesto, cuestiones baladíes aristocráticas.

El recorrido por las instancias silentes es ahora mucho más agradable, por lo tanto ya no tienen excusa esos desvergonzados y melenudos admiradores silentes de variada procedencia, para no entrar en el teatro del Schloss aunque no dispongan éstos de invitación oficial aristocrática.

A Servant Uprising

Commoners and most particularly, this Herr Graf's servants, have strange customs during the winter season ( probably due to some Bolshevish influences ), such as storming Herr Von's Schloss and taking over. Well this terrible uprising took place during last night, the time it has always happened over the centuries.
Fortunately , and it is probably not even necessary to say that this, Herr Graf's silent Schloss guardians, as always, have efficiently put down the revolt but those agitators left a mess behind. The rebels have been confined to the humid Schloss cellars where in addition to the gloom they will have to watch talkie movies.

Meanwhile, as discipline and order are not completely restored at the Schloss, this Herr Graf is going to spend an idle time in that perfid Albion capital city, a decadent and perfect place for a German aristocrat, certainly.

So during the next days the Schloss silent theater will be closed but fear not, the January reentré will be glorious so till that day this Herr Graf would like to send you the Season's greetings and very best wishes for 2009!".

La gente ordinaria y especialmente los sirvientes de éste conde germánico, tienen raras costumbres durante la época invernal ( seguramente debido a ciertas influencias bolcheviques… ), tales como tomar por asalto el Schloss de éste Herr Von.
Una terrible revuelta tuvo lugar la pasada noche tal y como viene aconteciendo desde hace centurias, de todas formas no es necesario comentar que afortunadamente los guardianes del Schloss pusieron fin de forma eficiente a dicha rebelión, aunque los agitadores dejaron el Schloss en un estado ciertamente lamentable.
Los rebeldes han sido confinados a las húmedas celdas del Schloss en donde además de lo lúgubre del lugar, tendrán que soportar ver filmes sonoros.

Mientras la disciplina y el orden no esté completamente restablecido en el Schloss, este Herr Graf se va a pasar unos ociosos días a la capital de la pérfida Albión, un decadente e idóneo destino para un aristócrata germánico, ciertamente.

Por lo tanto, durante los próximos días el teatro silente del Schloss permanecerá cerrado, aunque no teman…, la reentré del mes de enero será triunfal; mientras llega ese día, éste Herr Von quiere desearles unas felices navidades y los mejores deseos para el 2009.

It's Time To Aristokratische Relax!

It’s time to relax for an idle German aristocrat.

Time to practice elegant sports such as attending boring and decadent soirées, drink cocktails, spend this Herr Von’s heiresses' fortunes, whip and curse the servants- in German natürlich!!- or sleep at the Opera house. This is a completely different aristocratic life in comparison with the rest of the year as you can see but one has to have a way to avoid August's high temperatures and the heat that puts Herr Graf 's pale skin at risk.

For this reason the Schloss theatre will be closed until mid-September, a period of time, besides the other aristocratic trifling subjects mentioned before, that will be used in trying to find silent film treasures in the chaotic German archives or steal them from collections in far away and exotic places before they get damaged irremediably.

This German count hopes that the next autumn silent season re entrée will be even more thrilling and exciting than the last one- if that is possible- and will be like a drunken aristocrat getting dizzy from dancing waltzes.

Es tiempo de descanso para un ocioso aristócrata germánico.

Es hora de practicar elegantes deportes tales como acudir a aburridas y decadentes soirées, beber cocktails, gastar las fortunas de las herederas de éste Herr Von, dar de latigazos y maldecir a los sirvientes ( en germánico, ¡natürlich! ) o dormir plácidamente en la Ópera… tal y como pueden ustedes comprobar, una vida aristocrática muy diferente a la del resto del año y muy necesaria para evitar que las altas temperaturas del mes de agosto pongan en peligro la palidez de éste Herr Graf.

Por dicho motivo, el teatro del Schloss permanecerá cerrado hasta mediados del próximo mes de septiembre, un espacio de tiempo éste durante el cual, además de las trivialidades aristocráticas anteriormente citadas, se intentará encontrar más tesoros silentes en los caóticos archivos cinematográficos germánicos o sustraer preciados nitratos de colecciones sitas en lejanos y exóticos lugares antes de que éstos se estropeen de forma irremediable.

Este conde germánico espera que la próxima reentrée silente otoñal sea incluso más excitante y emocionante que la anterior, si ello fuese posible, excitante como un aristócrata beodo intentando bailar mareantes valses.

Este Herr Graf congratúlase especialmente, tal é coma se indica nese queixo estatístico á beira esquerda deste diario moderno ( ainda que éste aristócrata teutón preferiría en troques un bó queixo do Cebreiro... ) da aparición estelar do idioma galego coma unha das linguaxes de referéncia que empregan algún dos melenudos que inequívocamente amosan certo interese polos comentários silentes deste Herr Graf.

GUte Nacht

Magnífica soirée a que se celebrou esta noite no Schloss, grazas ós servizos musicais da cantante xermánica Dame Ute Lemper, unha artista teutona de voz prodixiosa, fascinante presenza no escenario e repertorio decadente ( tan decadente é Dame Lemper que mesmo ten predilección e canta pezas musicais afrancesadas públicamente!!… ) no que se revisitaron grandes obras musicais ambientadas durante a época de mocidade deste aristócrata teutón, aló durante a República de Weimar, unha saudosa viaxe musical ó Berlín máis irreverente, iconoclasta, crítico e efervescente artísticamente da época, un tempo único, irrepetíbel.

Estiveron no escenario con Dame Lemper, desvergonzadas frauleins daqueles atrevidos tempos, coma Dame Lola, Dame Sally ou mesmo Dame Lili, acompañadas éstas, natürlich! de apropiados Herren coma Macheath, Weill e Brecht, unha compaña perfecta pra que un decadente aristócrata xermánico tivese unha exemplar GUte Nacht.

E agora se mo permiten teño que deixalos momentáneamente, pois éste aristócrata teutón ten que continuar co seu cabaret.

In the never neverland of cyberspace, you can be whoever you want to be but impersonating someone else is another matter entirely. Identity theft is still theft, even on the Internet. That's why I was shocked to see some coarse commoner passing himself off as Graf Ferdinand Von Galitzien on “YouTube”.

This fake uses a small v for the “von” but otherwise tries to imitate the inimitable Graf himself. Surely though people must realize that the real Graf Ferdinand would never lower himself to squinting at the tiny blurred images on Youtube when he has the magnificent schloss theater at his disposal. This fake count apparently has not posted any films or comments thus far but if he does, please be aware that this impostor has no connection to Graf Ferdinand Von Galitzien who, with his aristocratic comments on the silent era, has entertained and informed so many on alt.movies.silent and other newsgroups.

Accept no substitutes! Let this “von” fellow return to the stables where he belongs, perhaps to write comments for “Youtube” on kung fu movies and spaghetti westerns. Leave the magnificent silent era to those with breeding enough to appreciate it.

En el mundo imaginario del ciberespacio, ustedes pueden pretender ser quienes quieran, pero hacerse pasar por alguien en particular ya es asunto de otro costal; el robo de personalidad sigue siendo un delito incluso en Internet y por dicho motivo éste conde germánico se ha escandalizado al comprobar como un vulgar plebeyo se hace pasar por este Herr Graf Ferdinand Von Galitzien en “YouTube”.

In attention to Dame Frederica and all those Americans who are not bilingual (it is strange… don't you have and use two eyes, two ears so why not two tongues, then??... ) this German Count gladly offers you an English version of his first post after the terrible summertime season and to avoid misunderstandings as happened with the illustrious President of Daughters Of Naldi, who thought that this German aristocrat was talking (in his first autumn post) about cruciform vegetables. This is absolute nonsense because is well known that the German aristocracy prefers choucrutte before greenness, not to mention that in Transylvania the Romanian aristocracy are allergic to that ordinary food with such a strange shape…

Ah, mein liebers!... how many time has passed since the last aristocrat communiqué!... an unforgivable delay that was due to the tightly packed ( as a teutonic heiress' girdle ) Herr Von’s agenda. The summer full of insignificant ceremonies that prolonged the ordinary summer season until the coming of the cold and cosy autumn, that beautiful season of returns and reunions with varied “affaires”, among them the glorious Schloss silent shows, those archaeological performances that this German count will resume pretty soon for your pleasure or your pain.

And in order to begin this new autumn-winter silent season, this Herr Graf suggests to you an interesting silent DVD sporting modern and almond-shaped eyes, because in far away Japan, a longhaired enterprise by the hieroglyphic name of “Digital Meme”, has edited two discs that included youthful works of filmmakers as important as Herr Mizoguchi,. The restoration is accompanied by the comments ( or not ) of Herr Benshi, that nice narrator who likes so much to bother the audience with his incomprehensible comments that the West audience can’t understand without a knowledge of exotic languages.

So, waste your scarce wages, (now that you have also had resume your frantic and wretched work life) buying those Eastern silent editions, here for our pleasure thanks to capitalism. Herr Graf will take advantage of this proletarian solidarity, as a teutonic vulture by replacing his blurry copies of those films for this new bright and immaculate longhaired silent edition.

Aristocrática Reentrée

¡Ah, mein liebers!... ¡cuánto tiempo ha pasado desde el último comunicado aristocrático!... una imperdonable demora ésta que se ha demorado en el tiempo debido a la apretada ( cual faja de heredera teutónica ) agenda de este Herr Von, repleta de actos baladíes que han prolongado la ordinaria temporada de estío hasta la llegada del cálido y fresquito otoño, esa deliciosa época de retornos y reencuentros con los más variopintos "affaires", entre ellos las gloriosas sesiones silentes del Schloss, proyecciones arqueológicas que espera este aristócrata germánico retomar en breve, para, a saber..., regocijo o espanto de todos ustedes.

Y para reiniciar esta nueva temporada de otoño-invierno silente, éste Herr Graf les hace una interesante sugerencia acerca de una edición silente en formato modernista y de ojos rasgados, pues en el lejano Japón, una factoría melenuda, que atiende al nombre jeroglífico de "Digital Meme", ha tenido a bien editar dos discos los cuales incluyen obras de juventud de cineastas tan importantes como Herr Mizoguchi, unas cuidadas ediciones restauradas y acompañadas por los comentarios ( o no ) de Herr Benshi, ese simpático narrador que tanto gusta incordiar con sus incomprensibles comentarios al público occidental ignorante éste de lenguas exóticas.

Pues ya saben, empleen sus escasos salarios, ahora que han retomado su frenética y angustiosa vida laboral, en la compra de esas ediciones orientales y silentes para, posteriormente y debido a sus querencias por compartir la propiedad privada, éste Herr Graf aprovecharse, cual buitre teutón, de dicha solidaridad proletaria y así reemplazar sus borrosas copias por esas prístinas e inmaculadas ediciones melenudas...

Y ahora si me lo permiten les tengo que dejar momentáneamente, pues este Conde germánico tiene que ordenar reabrir y adecentar la decadente sala de proyecciones del Schloss.

Ordinary Summertime

As probably those longhaired silent film fans around the ordinary world (those who usually are interested in this German count's comments on silents and other aristocratic subjects), have noticed that during the last weeks no silent films have been shown at the Schloss theatre. The reason for this terrible fact is another and even more terrible one: this Herr Graf is enjoying the decadent and leisure time so characteristic of the aristocratic people in the summertime; that is to say, sleeping at the Bayreuth Opera festival, drinking non-stop cocktails and flirting with fat Teutonic heiresses, and everything at the same time in the same place...

It will be in September when this Herr Graf comments will appear again in his modern diary but don't take this definitely because, as probably by now you already know, a German aristocrat likes to confound the ordinary people.

É tempo de festa xermánica, tempo de reinvindicación silente ( é mesmo tempo de apropiarse dos berros e balbordos melenudos por parte das clases diletantes aristocráticas... ), por iso mesmo, cando as calores estiváis e estes dias feriados comezan a aparecer e mesmo a ser sofridas alén do aristocrático Schloss, é tempo de que este Herr Graf percure eses destinos xeados, ignotos e tranquilos ( dos que terán vostedes boa conta ) e a tono coas suas gordas e ricas herdeiras xermánicas, unha perfecta desculpa, ésta, pra alongar o tempo de folgamento anual aristocrático asemade prolongar o pracer de partillar con todos os vostedes nun futuro teutón, eses filmes silentes que tanto nos asombran, maravillan e surprenden despois de transcorridos máis de 100 anos.
